Kim Warchol, OTR/L graduated from the University of Illinois in 1989 receiving a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Occupational Therapy. Since that time Kim has held clinical and management positions in geriatric rehabilitation with a subspecialty in cognitive disabilities. Kim is founder and President of Dementia Care Specialists, Inc., a national Occupational Therapy private practice specializing in dementia consulting, dementia software development, professional and staff training, and patient care. She is a frequent lecturer and writer on “best” Alzheimer’s interventions and practices, and other aspects of aging. She is also a volunteer for the Public Policy Committee of the Chicagoland Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. Kim has been instrumental in developing and carrying out the Public Policy platform in Illinois, including testifying before the Illinois Senate Public Health Committee on the need for specialized training for those who care for individuals with dementia.
