Irene Rademeyer graduated in 1971 with a B.S. in Physical Therapy
from the University of the Witwatersgrand in Johannesburg,
South Africa. The following year, she did post-graduate study
and worked in England, eventually returning to South Africa
and opening her own private practice. She successfully ran
this practice for 15 years.
While in South Africa, Ms Rademeyer became proficient in
Maitland techniques; she was subsequently selected as chairperson
of the manipulative therapy group that developed the manual
therapy program at her alma mater. Having achieved considerable
success and recognition in her home country, Ms Rademeyer
moved to the United States in 1986.
In 1991, Irene was invited by the Florida Spine Institute
in Clearwater, FL to open and direct their Physical Therapy
Clinic. That same year, she received her Orthopedic Certified
Specialist accreditation (which was renewed in 1998).
Irene has continued as Director of Physical Therapy at Florida
Spine while finding time to teach post-graduate students
in spinal and peripheral joint manual therapy throughout
the U.S. Ms. Rademeyer has most recently taught physical
therapy students at the University of South Florida as a
guest lecturer and has been a member of the panel to select
new physical therapy teaching staff at the University. |
