Sandra Lerner is founder and president of Comprehensive Therapeutics, Ltd (CTL)a Rehabilitation Management and Staffing Company and Comprehensive Rehabilitation, Ltd, a Medicare Rehabilitation Agency, serving Illinois with more than 300 employees. Before starting CTL in 1975, Sandra worked for eight years in hospitals as an Occupational Therapist with five of those years as Director of Occupational Therapy at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago.

Ms. Lerner has long been a supporter for rehabilitation and has served on boards and committees to advance the field of occupational therapy and the rehabilitation industry. Sandra has served as Regional Coordinator to the National Association of Rehabilitation Agencies and currently serves as the Membership Chairperson supporting the expansion and advancement of therapists and other professionals who have rehabilitation businesses.

Throughout her career, Sandra Lerner has been a dedicated professional holding a variety of positions in the American Occupational Therapy Association, as well as the Illinois Occupational Therapy Association. She is an adjunct faculty for Chicago State University and the University of Illinois and was President of the Alumni Board of the School of Allied Health at the University of Illinois. Sandra served six years on the Joint Commission’s, Long Term Care Professional Technical Advisory Committee representing the Coalition of Rehabilitation Therapy Organizations.

Ms. Lerner has presented lectures and seminars in her own business and to a variety of professional and community audiences addressing many topics of interest related to business, Medicare regulations and reimbursement. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Special Gifts Theatre, a not for profit organization, to advance opportunities and skills for the disabled in theatre arts.

Her passions and advocacy for the fields of occupational therapy and rehabilitation are demonstrated through mentoring and supporting legislative efforts, community service and financial support to a number of causes surrounding these topics. Ms. Lerner actively participates with the American Cancer Society, as well as other groups related to health care and advancement of those who are doing research and serving people in need.
